Reflecting the background of its founder, Miroslav (Mick) Anic, Freshwater's approach has a strong financial and strategic orientation. Mr. Anic has served in senior management positions for numerous private and publicly held firms in the biotechnology, food service and financial service industries. He has raised, invested and managed a venture fund focused on early stage companies. Mick also has extensive work-out experience.
Depending on the assignment, the Firm augments Mr. Anic's skill set by bringing in professionals from other disciplines including, marketing, operations, human resources, legal and accounting to provide "best practices" consulting services.
The Firm's members are adept at delivering results in dynamic and complex situations with imperfect information, limited resources and short time frames. We are well suited for project assignments and/or "swat team" approaches to problems requiring quick situational analysis, survival plan formulation and rapid implementation. Our work is characterized by "out if the box" thinking, unconventional approaches and innovative solutions. Our Firm's "patron saint" is Angus MacGuyver.
Freshwater does more than just give advice. If desired, we can be reatined to take a role in implementing our recommendations. We can do this by:
- providing strategic guidance through Board of Directors membership
- directly participating in day-to-day operational management
- taking direct responsibility for "skunk works", special project teams and/or complex transactions
The Firm's principals have extensive management, financial and business experience in a broad spectrum of industries in the US and Europe. We've learned our lessons well and can provide perspective that can only come from experience.
On a case-by-case basis, Freshwater can provide/arrange for risk capital to assist its clients in the growth or transformation of their businesses. Freshwater also has the financial contacts and expertise to structure and syndicate larger transactions.
